Policy Analysis of Juliet Schor’s “The Overworked American: The Unexpected
Decline in Leisure”
Number of pages:
6
ABSTRACT:
This 6 page report discusses Schor’s 1991 book in which she
explains that the typical American family is spending a great deal more time in business
and business-related activities which has resulted in a reduction in the amount of time
they have for leisure activities. This is not a book review but a “policy analysis” in which
the problem is defined, its extent and history are discussed, and possible solutions are
presented. Bibliography lists only the primary source.
